Here is a preview of one of my new fabrics! You can be the first see my fabric launch at my One Year Anniversary Party on July 28th! Pillows, pillows, pillows! It has always been a dream of mine to have my designs made into fabrics....one of my many dreams is coming true....yeah!
I've been a little off the radar lately because I have been working on new batik designs and preparing for my one year anniversary party on July 28th. I will have sooooo many new goodies......more to come on that soon!
I have also been working on my design for a batik design competition being offered by the Indonesian Embassy. I will be sharing that soon too.
Here are some of the new colors that I will be working with. I just got some new dyes in and I am able to mix some colors that I have been imagining. I have been working in jewel tones for quite a while now and feel like taking it down a notch and hitting some more subtle colors.
Here is a sneak peak at one of my new designs.....
I had the pleasure and honor of participating in a Batik Exhibition last week organized by The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia. The event celebrated the launch of an "American Batik Design Competition."
Batik originated in Indonesia and is intertwined with the cultural identity of the Indonesian people. The designs are stunning and the craftsmanship is exceptional. I am inspired and awed by Indonesian batik.
I will be entering the design competition which actually does not involve an actual batik, just the digital design. I will keep you all posted!

I found these pieces of wood in the woods in a pile of wood and branches in Rhinelander, Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them but I loved the color and the patina of the faded paint. It didn't take me long to find a use for them!
My brilliant friend of 28 years, Jennifer Doust, merchandised eco·batik yesterday and it looks amazing! I've decided that my creativity does not translate to merchandising. Jen is so creative and comes up with ways to display merchandise that I would never think of. It's a lot of little adjustments and placements that create a welcoming shopping experience for customers. Jen adds the magic!
